The 5 Keys to Website Marketing Success

I’m going to give you the 5 keys to web site marketing success. I am not exaggerating; this is what it really takes to be successful on the net. I have personally built dozens of web sites; all of them have been successful and I’ve watched thousands of others have the same positive results. This is what I do. These concepts work.

Success Key 1 - Have lots of good, useful content

Have lots of good, useful content on your web site because this provides your web site with return visitors

You need to have lots of good, useful content. Internet eCommerce experts say that you have to get a visitor back to your site 8 times, before they will do what it is you want them to do. I tend to agree with that. I think you have to have a lot of different things, different ‘rides’, different amusements, different resources and different information. You want your web site to be saved in your visitor’s ‘Favorites’. If you’re not there, you have failed!

Think of your visitors’ favorites as a mini SE. It’s a link directory that all of us have and it’s in our browser. You want to be in the favorite’s subject area, that you should be in, and you want to be at the TOP!

About Zeus (automated linking software)

A little secret that Zeus does is, before the title of your directory, Zeus inserts a little space; then when somebody saves your web site’s address, in their favorites, that space puts you at the top. Most of the links are sorted in alphabetical order. Think of a browser’s favorites. It’s really a Search Engine and the one that you should be after.

Success Key 2 - Optimize your web pages correctly

Optimize your web pages correctly, with the proper keywords and phrases, so the various search engine robots will index them properly.

When we started , we took maybe a half dozen of the pages and stuck in some Meta tags, some Meta descriptions and keywords. Primarily, we did that so when people looked, they wouldn’t think that we were total idiots and say, “What do these people know? They don’t even have Meta tags.” I don’t care about them.

Most SE robots don’t use them, they don’t count them. Web Masters lie, they can’t be trusted. But, put them on a few main pages, so people think you know what you’re doing. Use some of the keywords and phrases that you already have. If I’m glossing over Search Engines, that is just my own personal philosophy. I haven’t really seen that tweaking and re-tweaking your keywords does much good. I kno! w how to influence the Search Engines and if you just keep reading, I’ll prove that to you.

Success Key 3 - Submit your web site's pages, to the Search engines, by hand

Submit your web site's pages, by hand or other search engine approved method.

If you’re going to submit your web site to the Search Engines, submit your web site by hand. Don’t use any programs, but submit them by hand to 7 or 10 of the major SEs. It only takes you a few minutes. Don’t re-submit them. You don’t need to do that. They don’t listen to it. In fact, they want people to re-submit them a hundred times, so they can mark you as one of “those” kinds of people.

One of the most important things about submission is, go back about 3 or 4 weeks later. (Make yourself a note) Make sure that you got included. Just go in and type in your URL, then a keyword that should bring you up…even if you’re number 4,000. Just make sure you’re in. If you’re not, then re-submit. We don’t worry about submitting to the SEs, when we create new sites. We just check a few months later to make sure we are there. They always find us.

Success Key 4 - Have lots of quality links pointing to your web site

Have lots of quality links pointing to your web site from other web sites, that match as closely as possible the Themes or subjects of your own web site's content.

Have as many QUALITY links pointing to your site as you can get. Obtain Quality Links pointing to your site from other web sites that match, as closely as possible, the content of your own web site.

This is so important! If you do this, SEs will find the links out there; you’ll never have to resubmit your site. They know you’re there. They find them and that’s the way they want to do it. They don’t care about you re-submitting them. That means nothing. When you get 50 sites pointing to you, 25 sites, 10 sites, and that keeps growing and growing. That marks a flag in those SE algorithms. Here is an active site that’s growing in its community. When I say community I mean your ‘subject community’, your ‘Theme Community”. If you’re a Parrot web site then you’re growing in your Parrot, Bird subjects, Parrot Community.

Success Key 5 - Create Opportunities

Expand your luck base, learn to recognize opportunities, nourish them to create strategic alliances that hopefully will develop into trusted ones.

This key is what really explodes your web site into the limelight.

All business growth consists of opportunities that come along and business owners that hopefully see them as such and then take advantage of them.

To attract these opportunities, is the key to success, and is a combination of luck, hard work and common sense. Smart business managers expand on this luck base in various ways. In the real world, contacting people and telling them about your product, telephone solicitations, advertising, being in a real-world phone book are all ways to expand your luck base.

Giving your customers free information to induce word of mouth, being nice, having a good support area are other ways of expanding a luck base to create opportunities for good luck to happen to you. The ways of expanding your luck base are as diverse as the number of different kinds of businesses. Creating your good luck leads to creating a buying customer or the formation of strategic alliances with others in your field.

Once you start forming strategic alliances with other web or business entities, your business starts to become a presence. Once a true web presence, you become one of the centers of attention or perhaps even THE center of attention for your theme or industry
